Developed custom sales reporting system that utilized the existing BPCS databases as well as additional user defined databases
Modified billing update program
Alfa Laval Thermal - Richmond (1991-1994) :p>
Key analyst/programmer for BPCS implementation starting in Nov. 1991

Made enhancements to the general ledger module
Converted the MAPICS manufacturing databases into the BPCS manufacturing data bases
Modified order entry process to remember previously selected features and options during the configuration of a heat exchanger along with other modifications
Modified pick release and pick confirmation to allow additional selection filters
Modified ship confirmation process to gather all necessary information and generate the appropriate packing lists, bill of lading, and the necessary documents for overseas shipments
Interface invoicing to the ALGO system
Made changes to the Canadian financial reporting system
Modified the standard cost calculations in the shop order costing program
Modified accounts payable invoice entry to distribute to general ledger
Other modifications and custom development per project specifications
Tredegar Industries (1995)
Developed online project management applications for AS/400
Developed online software change management for AS/400
Modified Pansopic order entry pricing
Analyzed and estimated cost of upgrade Pansopic
Developed a custom general ledger reporting system on AS/400 in RPG/400 and CLP
Westvaco Corporation (1995 present)
Implement the order entry and billing modules for BPCS 5.1. Interfaced the inventory from the legacy systems to BPCS 5.1 and back to the legacy systems via radio frequency data collection and CimPath
Technical lead of BPCS 6.02 implementation at Westvaco in June 1997
Developed radio frequency data collection process and inventory locator system to post inventory transactions collected on shop floor for purchase order receipts, manufacturing production receipts, issues and shipments into BPCS 6.02 purchasing, shop floor, and inventory modules maintaining over 99% inventory accuracy
Developed a radio frequency data collection process to automate the BPCS two step cycle count process providing extensive reporting and visibility of cycle count inventory transactions
Conversion of data from the legacy systems (inventory, bill of materials, routings, cost data, item master). This conversion was performed from two AS/400 platforms. Bill of materials (multi-level) from data that was scattered across the two platforms in legacy systems were created in the BPCS database as well as item master records. Routings were created from scratch. Component bill of materials were also generated for scratch
Developed the ability to maintain the location visibility of prebilled inventory that has been billed to the customer and not actually shipped and setting the value to zero
Creation of lot master records for lot control processing
Creation of lot master records from ASNs received from vendors
Conversion and creation of inventory from two AS/400 legacy systems into BPCS
Heavy utilization of co-product processing in shop floor module
Developed process to automate two step cycle counts where user collects cycle count data via radio frequency and then selects what to post by simply selecting the lot/item with and action option. Also post a memo indicating that cycle count was deleted.
Extensive use of inventory transactions and lot status to control movement and status of inventory
Developed program to allocate lots records to sales orders as they were loaded onto the carrier by RF data collection. Moved inventory to appropriate warehouse before allocation is performed to ensure that BPCS will ship lot. Also capability to remove allocated lots from sales order if lots are moved off of the truck.
Modifications to shop order creation program and auto generation of shop orders from order entry to include phantom items w/o inventory and the attachment of phantom components to appropriate routing operation on printed shop packet. Also rounded items with stocking unit of measure to next whole number. Add shop order notes using existing BPCS note functionality.
Incorporated BPCS notes capablilty in shop floor labor posting transactions.
Created an automated shop order close program
Modified inventory month end processing to decrease processing time
Automated the month end process to run appropriate month end programs
Modified inventory inquiry to show transactions in descending date/time sequence rather than transaction sequence and eliminated locations that contain no inventory
Modified update IIM from ILI to run for specific item or all items in a batch mode
Modifications to allocation programs to not allocate lot control items during pick release and shop order creation
Modifications to pick confirmation to only allow entry of lot number to be shipped and automatically retrieve location and quantity of lot
Modification to finite forward scheduling to allow alternate sequences in which to present shop orders and to start scheduling based on simulated date and time rather than BPCS shop calendar and midnight
Custom parameter controlled shop order schedule report generation
Implemented Master production scheduling, distribution relationship planning and material requirements planning
Modified CimPath and INV500 to execute a list of programs before or after an inventory transaction is posted based on the inventory transaction effect to allow processing to take place based on specific transaction
Modified CimPath to automatically allocate inventory from an item class specific location for the purpose of backflushing raw materials that are used on a consignment arrangement with the vendors
Modified CimPath to not allow the single issuing of materials that are not found on the bill of materials without authorization by the inventory control manager or production personel for that specific material
Modified CimPath to allow posting of manufacturing receipt to a warehouse other than that of the shop order
BPCS to SAP interface for material add/change/deletes, purchase requisitions, purchase order receipts, inventory, labor utilizing APPC and then MQ Series
Morven Partners (1998 present)
Modifications to the BPCS billing update program to accommodate a special freight calculation.
Modifications to pick confirmation to automatically generate an invoice based on a warehouse with printer control, prompting for load information before packing and bill of lading reports are generated
Modifications to billing update to allow alternate bank numbers to be feed to the accounts receivable, calculation of special fuel surcharge
Developed a commodity buying system that interfaces to BPCS inventory modules via CimPath.
Dynamic creation of fuel surcharge item on sales order based on weight of quantity shipped during pick confirmation process.
Developed over the counter order processing front end that works mostly like an auto parts store, customers get in and out very quickly. This application utilizes the BPCS inventory lot control and consigns inventory to a customer location and prints delivery/return tickets until a settlement date is established at which time the consigned inventory is automatically allocated to a sales order reducing inventory and generating invoices
Converted a System/36 BPCS Rel 2.0 to AS/400 BPCS 4.05 CD. This was a complicated conversion process because the System/36 BPCS release and the conversion software release did not match. A 1500 page job log had to be analyzed to determine where errors occurred in the conversions of the data.
